It’s a funny thing when you have a fixed thought in your mind. Here I was, about to arrive in Lake Louise, with plenty of snow and ice around (it’s January in the Rockies, after all), and I was expecting to see this:
Yes, this is Lake Louise during the warmer months of the year. A stunning, turquoise lake. That’s the real deal too, a picture perfect postcard kind of setting. To many, this is one of the most beautiful places in Canada. Couldn’t agree more.
But the winter brings its own beauty. You don’t get the blues but you get the same desire to get out and enjoy the weather and activities and have an amazing time doing it.

Couldn’t find a pair of skates of my own that day. Would have spent most of my time falling and scraping my knee anyway.
