I love the anticipation of meeting someone new.
I love the moment of meeting. Recognized and recognizing a new friend. The start of a conversation. A connection.
I love when people book my experience. It automatically tells me three qualities that they have. Adventurous. Courageous. Independent.
Adventurous to decide to do something different, something out of the ordinary, something.
Courageous to commit to something different, something out of the ordinary, something. Independent to follow through on doing something different, something out of the ordinary, something.
That something is my food tour. A roller coaster cycle of emotions and conversations. All epic.
No matter what, when and who, we still love, yearn, hope to connect with people. To feel welcomed, appreciated, respected, acknowledged, heard, seen by people, total strangers, new friends. In person. Especially over a coffee, a meal.
To me, people make, break an experience. To me, people are most remembered.
I love connecting.
I love relating.
I love welcoming you.
My tour isn’t just about introducing ourselves. About the getting-to-know each other. About explaining the Greek immigration experience. About the history of Greeks in Canada, Toronto. About the food.
My tour is about the smiles. The hand shakes, the hugs. The connection. The warmth. The community. The people in the community. It’s about inspiring inspiration. Positivity. Inclusivity. Relatability. Respect. Love.
It’s a biography. About struggle. Perseverance. Experiences. Culture. Through community. Food. It’s a shared biography. I share it with you. In hopes of connecting with you. On a human level. Through laughter. Handshakes. Respect. Appreciation. Food.
I love what I do. I love what I’ve been given a chance to provide, to share. I love that I can showcase an experience that illustrates who I am, where I come from, through conversation, through food. Something all of us can appreciate.
So book your spot. Let’s meet. Let’s eat!
Hey y’all. I’m Jim. That kid went on to spend 16 years in the broadcast media world before starting up Travel Mammal, a site dedicated to collaborating with brands to promote travel, food and cultural experiences.
Travel Mammal isn’t about the selfie or checking things off a list. It’s about experiencing both the journey and the destination. To breathe, learn and really absorb what’s around you, in the moment and experiencing in a way that is both memorable and meaningful.
Happy travels, y’all.
